Selectmen chose to not vote – at least for now – on a request from the Sudbury Housing Authority (SHA) to support SHA’s request for funding from a third party (the Sudbury Foundation) to conduct an evaluation of potential locations for affordable housing on town-owned land, including Broadacres Farm. Two main reasons were given:
- The Broadacres Town Forum will be held Nov. 21, and Selectmen want feedback from residents before supporting an evaluation of affordable housing there
- The Planning Board has been working on its “inclusionary zoning” policy, and Selectmen want more details on that.
We think the Selectmen made a good choice to hold off on its vote to gather more input from residents. However, there is a chance they might still vote in support of this measure later.
